Colors

Lovely colorful flowers in a blue vase

One person wears a light minty green button-up blouse over a dark forest green top. I notice colors. I notice how the greens play to skin tone and how the colors are calming to the viewer. I also notice,. when the person leaves the room, the colors leave the room with her. Now, when I remember that person, I think of her in black and white and shades of grey.
Surrounded by color, enjoying the hues, I am happy. It is like sitting with a large bowl of rainbow sherbet. My husband would dream in color. Then he would awaken and paint his dreams. Unless I am surrounded by color, my life is thought out, and dreamed, in black and white and shades of grey.
A house that is full of white, beige, and tan is my biggest decorating nightmare. The first thing I would do is buy decorative pillows in blue, red, or green giving me a pop of color and a reason to live. (only kidding about that last part) Then I would take my two iridescent flowers, that Kathy gave me, and put them in a blue vase. The flowers pick up the colors around them and the light through them.
I believe, when people started to hang paintings and pictures, they did so to remember or experience life. There are striking black and white photos and drawings, but – give me color so I might experience the emotions associated with those memories. For me, it starts with color.
On that note, I also believe what we wear and how we decorate, affects our well-being. And they affect those we come in contact with. Some people are colorblind. Statistically, most of them are men. Men, in general, are not as emotionally sensitive as a rule. (different hormones) For that reason, women seem to have a better chance of well-being if they fill their lives with individual color palettes.
Interestingly, I wore a winter white top today. But then again, it makes my pink skin look more tan. I just need to get home to my colorful throw pillows.

Interesting that your husband’s dreams were in color and he was an artist. I started paying attention to my dreams and found they are dark and sometimes I can’t quite see them clearly. I enjoyed your writings. Keep it up!!
