Dear Me,
Just a quick note I’ve been meaning to drop off to you, letting you know how much I appreciate who you are. Actually, it’s more about who you have become.
I know I have been hard on you in the past. I truly believed, then, that you deserved my scolding and correcting. Perhaps you did deserve all of the negatives I threw at you in our past, but thinking about it in hindsight, I believe I may have been a little harsh.
In your unique way, you accepted all of my criticism, and instead of quitting, you honestly tried to better yourself. I believe you have achieved much of your self-improvement goals and have grown to become a positive part of society.
That is not to say, I don’t think there is room for improvement, but, honestly Me, you are someone I have come to know and appreciate. I’d even go as far as to say you are a Me I can live with. I also appreciate the fact that you can live with I.
We know that I will continue to watch you during this trip we call life. Forgive me if I seem snappy at times. I will try to be a little softer in my approach. I am aware that I have used the word “I” multiple times, but then again, this letter isn’t all about “Me” is it?
Thank you for your time.
Note: This letter has been forwarded to Myself.
Please file this under “Peace”
(To be brought out when needed.)
